Angelisa Gillyard, PhD. serves as a Senior Consultant
at McNeil Creative Enterprises, bringing a unique blend of artistic leadership, business strategy, organizational analysis, and research to MCE's client engagements. She supports research, data collection, strategic planning, and organizational learning, helping clients translate information into practical strategies for growth and impact.
A Helen Hayes Award-nominated director and choreographer, Angelisa has directed and choreographed productions for many of the Washington, D.C. region's leading theaters, including Arena Stage, Studio Theatre, Signature Theatre, Mosaic Theater Company, 1st Stage, and Constellation Theatre Company. Her work as an artist, educator, and administrator gives her a deep understanding of the opportunities and challenges facing creative organizations.
As the former Director of Education and Engagement at Mosaic Theater Company, Angelisa led initiatives spanning strategic planning, audience engagement, partnership development, internship and fellowship programs, and community-centered learning experiences. She also previously served as a business professor, where she specialized in quantitative and qualitative data analysis, process improvement, and organizational and functional strategy.
Angelisa holds a BS in mathematics from Spelman College, an MBA from GA Tech, a PhD in Business with a concentration in Supply Chain Management and Logistics from The Ohio State University, and an MFA in Directing from Catholic University. Her interdisciplinary background allows her to bridge creative practice with rigorous analysis, helping organizations develop strategies that are both innovative and grounded in evidence.
When she is not working, Angelisa enjoys photography, reading and exploring her local restaurant scene with friends.
