Our Story.

I know what it feels like to step onto a stage and experience, firsthand, the power of the arts to connect people, tell stories, build community, and change the way we see the world.

But as my career moved from the stage to behind the scenes, I began to see another side of the arts.

I watched organizations doing extraordinary work struggle to explain why that work mattered. They had the stories. They had the relationships. They could see the difference they were making in their communities. But when it came time to translate that work into the language of strategy, impact, evaluation, or funding, too often they were left trying to fit meaningful, human work into systems that weren’t designed with them in mind.

I started McNeil Creative Enterprises to make complicated things easier to understand. At MCE we create roadmaps, remove roadblocks, and highlight blind spots so that the people doing the work to move culture forward aren't struggling to prove that their work matters.

Working at the intersection of strategy, learning, evaluation, and equity, we help clients make sense of complex challenges, align stakeholders around shared goals, and translate insight into action. Our work combines rigorous inquiry with deep sector expertise, helping organizations strengthen decision-making, understand impact, navigate change, and build sustainable pathways for growth.

Whether assessing operations, evaluating programs, designing impact frameworks, facilitating stakeholder engagement, or guiding leadership through periods of transition, we help organizations reduce risk, remove roadblocks, and move forward with greater clarity and confidence.

For more than a decade, MCE has partnered with foundations, government agencies, cultural institutions, and nonprofit organizations to strengthen learning, improve alignment, and support meaningful, measurable change.
